Management of Risk (MoR®)

This course is based on The Cabinet Office's best-practice guide 'Management of Risk: Guidance for Practitioners'.

The guide helps organisations put in place effective frameworks for taking informed decisions about risk.

The guide sets out a framework for managing risk at strategic, programme, project and operational levels to identify key risks, assess them and take action to address them.

Examinations

  • Foundation - 75 questions including 5 trial questions, exam time 1 hour, pass mark 50% (35/70)
  • Practitioner - 4 questions of 20 marks each, exam time 3 hours, pass mark 50% (40/80) using a case study to test comprehension of the method. Paper based reference material can be used during this examination.

Foundation and Practitioner

This course introduces a framework for taking informed decisions about risk.  It covers the MoR Foundation and Practitioner syllabus based on based on OGC's best-practice guide Management of Risk: Guidance for Practitioners.  This course is applicable to:

  • People with responsibility for the implementation and operation of Management of Risk as detailed in the Turnbull report.
  • Senior executives
  • Business line managers
  • Business process owners
  • People involved in directing or managing programmes and projects.
